The brain and heart of an EV is the battery. Unfortunately many EV makers are still struggling with the problems of range and safety. MIA GLOBAL has teamed up with researchers at Blue Rock Energy Technology in the USA to create a solid state battery.
By definition a solid state battery is a single thin sheet of metal with a layer of conductible material, usually containing lithium, between two cathodes. The movement of the ions takes place through the "solid state substance" within the conductible layer and does not rely on the use of liquid electrolyte. With no liquid material inside the devise, the risk of overheating and crystallization is eliminated hence avoiding the potential hazard.
The key attributes of a solid state battery are safety, efficiency, weight and capacity.
